Privacy and Cookies

This site has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no comments, no newsletter, and no advertising. You can read everything without giving anything. The short version of what happens when you visit is below.

Visit statistics (Google Analytics)

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people read. It records things like the pages you view, how long you stay, which page or search brought you here, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (country or city level). Google says Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses. Google Signals and ad personalization are turned off, so the statistics are not linked across your devices or used to build advertising profiles. The data is used only to understand which articles are useful and to fix what is not.

To tell one visit from another, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID. Google documents their lifetime as up to two years. They hold a random identifier, not your name or email, because this site never asks for either.

There is no cookie banner. Nothing on this site asks you to agree before the statistics load, so the choices in "Your choices" below are how you opt out.

Affiliate links

Links like "Open a tastytrade account" go through this site's own address (/go/) before sending you to the partner. That step lets the site count how many people clicked. If you already carry a Google Analytics cookie, the click is recorded as one more event in the same statistics, with the partner's name and nothing else about you. Automated crawlers are not counted. The partner then handles your signup under its own privacy policy. This site's code never sees your signup, your account details, or what you do on the partner's site. Hosting

The site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs, including the IP address of each request, for security and operations. This site does not use those logs to identify visitors.

What this site does not do

• It does not ask for or store your name, email, or any account details.
• It does not run advertising networks, retargeting, or tracking pixels from social networks.
• It does not embed videos, social posts, or comment widgets.
• It does not load fonts from third parties. The fonts are served from this site itself.
• The share buttons are plain links. They send nothing to X or Reddit unless you click one.

Your choices

• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works the same without them.
• Install Google'sAnalytics opt-out browser add-on, or use a browser or extension that blocks analytics scripts.
• This site does not currently act on a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal on its own, so use one of the options above if you want analytics off.

Who this site is for

This site is written for readers in the United States and is not directed at children. The analytics data is not tied to your name or email, so it cannot be looked up by person. If you have a privacy question or request anyway, you can message @bareknuckleopts on X.
